Capturing the essence of an object, the atmosphere and feeling of a room and place, the character and emotions of people is what interests me.
I like to shoot simple, reduced stills where you can feel the material as well as sensitive images with a surreal touch.
I decided to become a photographer after seeing a retrospective of Irving Penn's work in my teens. After finishing photo school and assisting photographers like stillife photographer Igor Panitz and Micha Wolfson in Germany I moved to New York and stayed for over 10 years to experience this energy driven city and its vibrant photography scene.
I assisted photographers like Hans Gissinger and Ken Shung and worked for editorial clients like TimeOut New York, Elle, Metropolis magazine, shooting mostly interiors and stills.
After working on a documentary film in North Carolina, I decided to move to Berlin.
